I am pretty excited about this new family of four.
Back in October of 2014 I photographed this sweet family back when Zaya was just itty bitty. I was beyond excited when Mikaela (at Mikaela Ruth Photography) had asked me to photograph them considering she is one of my all-time favourite photographers. I seriously wanted this girl to capture my wedding back in 2011. A few months after their shoot, Mikaela asked me if I would be willing to second shoot a few weddings with her that Fall. I again was over the moon excited. From there, our friendship only grew.
The following May, Mikaela and I had the opportunity to attend a workshop by Jasmine Star out in Seattle! We headed out there for two days and enjoyed a couple nights out without our kiddos (who we, of course, missed so much… but really the sleep was nice).
While there we chatted about growing our family. When? We were both a little unsure but we knew wanted it to be somewhat soon. The following month I found out I was pregnant with N and less than two months later, on our way to a wedding, Mikaela shared she was expecting as well!
That summer we indulged in our prego cravings and shared stories of what it was like to be pregnant again. Nearly exactly two months after N was born little Ava was born. Funny enough I just happen to text Mikaela the night that Ava was born. She asked me what my false labour was like and inside I thought… hmmm I think this sounds like the real thing. However, I was patient and waited to hear any updates and/or the arrival of their second baby. Sure enough, the next afternoon I got a text introducing little Ava Ruth to us. I was beyond excited. I could not wait to meet this gem.
So lucky me, I got to photograph this family again. But this time as a family of 4! I was so incredibly honoured. I can’t wait for our kiddos to grow up together and if there just happens to be a wedding ceremony in there, that works for me too:p
