Johnny + Tasha

Johnny + Tasha met during the summer of 2012 when they were both staff members at Camp Squeah. Tasha was a counsellor and Johnny was the wilderness survival guide. They started off as friends and somewhere along the way something changed.

Tasha had an unofficial list of all of the things she wanted in the perfect guy. The more she got to know Johnny, the more she realized he was checking off more and more of her list! And once he started doing things with my family, she noticed how perfectly he fit in. She felt crazy to not have him around.

Sure enough nearly 3 years later Johnny proposed to Tasha, just shy of their 3 year anniversary

Every year for their dating anniversary, they would go to Lightning Lakes (Manning Park). The year before they got engaged, during a walk around the lake, Johnny thought it would be funny to pretend to propose! Fast forward to the following year, they went for the same walk, stopped at the same spot, and proposed but this time for reals.

A few months back I captured Tasha and Johnny’s engagement at Derby Reach in Langley. I was so incredibly excited about their wedding since it was being held at one of my favorite venue, Whonnock Lake.

It was prevalent from day one, that these two were meant for each other. Johnny started off a bit on the shy side, not sure how he was feeling about photos, but by the end of their wedding I saw a totally different guy. One posing for photos and making us all laugh! Tasha, well she is just a sweet soul. During the wedding I asked her if she wanted to go do some sunset photos in the later evening, she wanted to but truth was her guests were so much more important her. She wanted to greet all of her guests, therefore photos would need to wait. Honestly, it only brought out what I had already seen in Tasha the few times I had met her. Just a heart of gold.

Johnny and Tasha’s wedding was a dream. Although it rained on and off a bit, the clouds parted and the sun shone bright during their entire ceremony. It was so much fun getting to know these two and spending their special day with them!
